Through this acknowledgement, I endeavour to thank every person and element, including my guru, that has been instrumental in shaping these policies and compiling them to bring it in the form of a book. Although the policies started to build up since day one of the inception of the school, the actual document of it was endorsed first in 2014 during the five years IB evaluation. Each policy has been reviewed and altered time and again with the change in practices, teaching methodology, review in curriculum, staff allocation, student numbers, parents’ involvement, community support and other similar cases.
The school has always seen an upward graph with regard to the achievements, accolades and awards until it saw the adverse effects of the pandemic, where policies and practices had to be altered to meet the needs of students, staff as well as parents. This included the addition of a few other policies like The well-being policy, The exam policy etc. These policies have helped immensely with the steadfast growth of the institution which brings all the community members on the same page. Each policy resonates the school’s vision and mission statement and the school philosophy.
It also reflects the views of Dr K.M.V. Pillai, highlighted in his book “Edunation“ and I remain indebted to him for helping me shape the course of the school and the ideas behind each policy.
I remain thankful to the staff members of the school in sharing their perspectives towards writing these policies – Principal, section heads, coordinators, teachers, non-teaching staff and office staff.
I appreciate the support of my family, my husband and son in being patient with me and my time schedule which also included late hours at work, only to leave very early again the next morning for the last two decades and more.
All I believe is, no person can be self made, self-sufficient or can do things single-handedly, especially when running a school and managing it, is concerned.
Every single person that I have come across with, during this journey has shaped my personality in some manner or the other, a part of which is probably reflected in this book. I wish to thank each of the above members sincerely and wish the best for them always.
